Finding the right hair products can be challenging, however, knowing what type of hair you have helps wonders. Here is some of my staple products I think everyone should add to their hair routine.

Pomade- applying pomade at the end of your hair routine will help hold your hair steadily in place. Being a lot thicker than gel, it is recommended to people with thicker hair, as it can make thinner hair look limp and dull. Pomades work well in slick hair styles, especially side partings as it really holds the hair in place- this is a great option for those with flyaway hairs.

Mousse- mousse is a great product for those with curly hair and works best when scrunched or diffused. Mousse also adds extra volume to the hair as well as taming any frizz and adds a natural hold, which is a great addition for those who find that their can lose shape or flatten throughout the day. The best way to apply is to towel dried hair, ready to blow-dry.

Clay- unlike a gel, clay offers a strong hold with a matte finish. This product is extremely versatile, it can work to hold curls in place or to hold a quiff high and strong, without leaving the hair dry and crispy. Clay works on the majority of hair types, but I recommend using it sparingly on finer hair.

Hairspray- lastly, a classic that can be used alongside all other products mentioned. Hairspray is a staple in many peoples haircare routine, and is the perfect finisher to hold hair in place all day. It offers versatile styling options by adding volume, creating a natural appearance and providing a long lasting hold, hairspray is a classic for a reason.
